BLUE SKIES Collier’s Creek Series by Nic Starr Release Date: October 31, 2023 Review Last but not least we get the final story in the Collier’s Creek Series, and it was wonderful. Kit and Felix find themselves in Collier’s Creek searching for a reset to life that has dealt them some blows. Kit has come to finish writing a story he’s been unable to find inspiration for since the death of his spouse.  He’s determined to keep to himself. Chatting with locals only when absolutely necessary. What he’s not prepared for is Felix. The younger man who patiently and calmly won’t let Kit hide away. Together they build a friendship as Felix leads him on outings and gets him to socialize more and more. It’s exactly the reentry into living that he needs. Felix also manages to find himself as they explore the town and area.  It’s a slow and steady romance without too much drama, but definitely a lot of heart and warmth. You also get to revisit a number of characters we fell in love wi...

REVIEW: Next Season by Lane Hayes (The Elmwood Series #2)

Image
NEXT SEASON The Elmwood Stories  - Book Two by Lane Hayes Release Date: October 30, 2023 Review Oh man, I love this series of Lane’s, about NHL players who for one reason or another find themselves in Elmwood.  I especially adored this story with Jean-Claude, the French Canadian chef. He’s fantastique! The quick-witted, slightly sarcastic, and drole man who was a bit of mystery in book one. Such a kind and steady man.  He may be closed off to many, but witnessing him with Riley was wonderful. (I may also secretly wish I could date a chef!) “If I made it, I knew it was delicious. If you don’t like it, you probably had bad taste.” - preach Jean-Claude! Riley was a sweetheart himself. It was hard not to feel for the man who desperately wants to retire on his own terms, not taken out by an injury. Hockey was his everything. I can totally get why it would be so heartwrenching to think you might simply drift away from something that had consumed so much of you life. Toge...

REVIEW: Fall For You by Felice Stevens

FALL FOR YOU by Felice Stevens Release Date: October 25, 2023 Review I have to say, I think this may be my favourite novel by Felice Stevens. It’s a perfect combination of first impressions gone wrong, boss employee, sweet story. I loved how much they grew throughout the story. Not just as a couple but as people. They had a lot to overcome in their personal lives. Especially Carson. He may sometimes act an entitled jerk, but it’s protecting such a tender and hurt soul. Davis and Carson may have their differences but they learn so much from each other, and most importantly they protect each other's hearts with such care and love. Truly a wonderful story. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Carson Ballard isn’t only lactose intolerant—he’s intolerable. No wonder his assistant quit on him without notice. Okay, okay, he has a right to be angry at me for dumping an armful of sticky breakfast plates on his head. It was an accident, I swear. But now I’m out of a job—not that I’...
