REVIEW: Breakthrough by Ana Ashley (Dads of Stillwater #2)

Review
Glad to be back in Stillwater, where the number of gay/bi single dads is high (must be something in the water)!
Ana always writes lovely and thoughtful stories of beautiful men with depth. Milo and Ellis are no different.
Milo is young and sweet but also strong and resilient. He’s been dealt many blows in life but never gives up. Especially when’s got an infant to care for.
Ellis is an older kindergarten teacher. Steady, caring, and always ready to help out. He’s been hurt though, so he’s shy about the idea of dating, especially a much younger man.
I loved both of them. They were both kind-hearted and wore their hearts on their sleeves, even if they didn’t think they did. I also loved that despite their ages and the imbalance in their financial situations, they also felt like equals. They both had something to bring to the table. The story has enough twists, turns, and emotions to feel complete and engaging without being angsty.
And one would be remiss to not point out the amazing cast of characters around them. A sweet baby girl, a hilarious found grandma, and a pushy sister amongst them. And don’t worry, you get enough of the other Dads of Stillwater to keep you happy.

Synopsis
A young single dad. An older man. An impossible love story.
Milo
I lost everyone I’ve ever loved, but there’s one person I’m determined to keep. The baby I was left with when tragedy struck once more.
Now my life is all about surviving. I don’t have time to date, or relationships.
That is until Ellis, the sexy, older, and kind primary school teacher who’s currently living rent free in my head with no intention of moving out, gives me the second job I desperately need.
But why would he want a guy from the wrong side of town, who’s barely paying the bills and comes with a plus one?
Ellis
Moving to Stillwater was the fresh start I needed after having my heart stomped on and my career practically destroyed.
Despite my family’s best efforts, I’m determined that nothing shall break through the walls I’ve built around myself. No more relationships.
That is until I meet the much younger grocery store cashier with the warm brown eyes, and accidentally give him a job.
As I get to know Milo, brick by brick that wall is coming down and no matter how much I resist I’m starting to run out of excuses as to why I shouldn’t give in.
But why would he want anything with someone much older when he could have anyone else?
