Review
Michael Robert writes such dynamic and interesting stories, with so much care and emotion and with men that are so intriguing and complex. He really has become a favourite author.
Take Me With You…is hard to explain in a way that truly captures it. But I adored it, through and through.
Two men whose lives are worlds apart. One from old money. And another from a small town, who barely knew any money.
In the beginning, we meet them both in their separate lives.
Bo. A sweet young man who faces the heartbreak of rejection and lost love. Followed by the loss of the grandmother that raised him. He lives an isolated life, alone on an island with limited contact with anyone else. It doesn’t take long to fall for the kind, sweet man. And crack at the pain he feels.
Hayes comes from old, uber-wealthy money. Yet it’s clear he doesn’t love the world of wealth. He’s also been living in the closet with his partner of 10 years (who’s also cold and terrible to Hayes). And it’s eating away at him. The false life, the loneliness of that.
It takes a massive storm to bring these two together. And amnesia. And boy, do I love the idea of someone being who they are intrinsically but not knowing their history or baggage.
As they fall in love on Bo’s little island free of family and obligations, a magical relationship begins. But when the real world comes crashing in, it’s going to take a lot for these two to make it work.
So happy for the life they built in the end.

Synopsis
The tropical storms that roll into The Low Country of South Carolina are fierce. High destructive winds pummel the coastlines and rivers along the Atlantic, blowing debris and wreaking havoc. Storm surges crash up the river, depositing all sorts of rubble along the river’s shores.
The morning after one such storm, Bo Dawson, a 20 year old born on the wrong side of the tracks, discovers that a body has washed up on the shore in front of his fishing shack. With the area suffering from the devastation of the tropical storm, Bo is forced to care for the unconscious stranger. The stranger who doesn’t remember who he is or where he’s from.
For five weeks these two navigate the turbulent surprises delivered by life and brewing storms. But what happens when Hayes starts to regain his memory? What happens when he doesn’t want to go back to his other life?
