Review

This was a lot of fun and super sweet/romantic.

It’s a hallmark-y rom-com in a cute meddling town that loves it’s people and Christmas. I mean, come on, the not-out lumberjack who loves poetry falls for the handsome newcomer. And their meet-cute involves Clay offering to clean Gunter's chimney!

And how can Gunter not fall for the tall sexy man who blushes and does such romantic things for him?

Throw in a slightly too supportive and oversharing father, some very invested friends, and a whole town who are equal parts excited for Clay to fall in a love and for Gunter to fix up the house he bought, and you have a very enjoyable holiday story.

I kept waiting for my colleagues to come in to ask me why I kept laughing alone in my office.

Narrator Glen Lloyd was perfect for a very effusive holiday rom-com.

Synopsis

After a year of tragedy, forty-four-year-old Gunter Zuniga is leaving heartbreak behind and moving to the peaceful and picturesque town of Hartbridge, Montana. He buys an old house in need of some work, which he naively thinks he can manage now that he’s single and retired—he has nothing but time.

Clay Henderson runs the local sawmill with his dad, and it’s the busiest time of year. Firewood and Christmas trees are in high demand, and a delivery of firewood to the old house on Cedar Bark Road leaves him curious about the new man in town.
