Review

My first by Gigi Rivers and won’t be my last. I really enjoyed not just the story but also the whole world.

A family of kitchen witches who run the family Bakery. They are loving, but also a little chaotic due to the number of them and now the addition of partners.

It’s a really interesting world that feels both contemporary and old at the same time. And the paranormal aspect was diverse but also simple (I don’t mean that in a bad way - I like it that way, it means I can keep up).

Lachlan is a sweetheart. He feels a little unseen (not unloved), so when he finds a cat to care for, and who clearly cares for him, he’s happy to have something of his own. And then he discovers his beloved Kit is a shifter.

It causes a bit of a crisis, and I’m not gonna lie, I cried a bit. But in the end, they find something really special and unique to them.

And now I must read the rest of the stories!

Synopsis

What happens when a witch’s familiar turns out to be more than just an innocent kitty?

When Lachlan, a shy hearth witch, adopts a stray cat from the streets, the cat becomes his cherished companion and familiar. Lachlan couldn’t be happier—until one snowy night when everything changes.

Me and My Christmas Familiar is a cosy fantasy romance with plenty of spice. It features a shifter who has been stuck in cat form for years, hurt/comfort, first times, cosy Christmas vibes, and a guaranteed HEA. This is considered a side story to the An MM Monster Christmas series as it features a cat shifter as a main character, which is not a monster.
