Review
Tameron, you sweet, sweet grumpy man. I want to smother you in hugs and affection. But thankfully, he has Dayton instead. Patient Dayton, who is willing to love him softly from afar until he’s ready.
Gah, it’s one thing to experience a life-altering trauma and the after effects, but also trying to support friends who are also trying to find their way forward from the accident that hurt them all. How do you ask for help when your support system also needs help? And then watching them find a life of their own with love.
Tameron doesn’t know how to let people in and ask for help. What he’s not prepared for is Dayton, who is kind and stubborn.
Dayton is an incredible character. The only hearing member of a Deaf family, they are close, but being different always leaves its mark. And add in a career as a firefighter who sees some of the worst moments in life. He’s got tender spots that help him be the kind of person who can be there for another.
It’s a tender story, with lots of love and sweetness. I adore them both.

Synopsis
Losing my hearing has far more consequences than I expected.
The physical part is frustrating and annoying, but the emotional part is so much harder. I don’t belong anywhere anymore, always an outsider.
And now there’s Dayton, the older, sexy firefighter who keeps popping up everywhere I go. At my gym, in my house, in my dreams.
Wait, why am I dreaming about him?
I don’t even like him—though that doesn’t seem to be mutual.
Surprisingly, Dayton understands my struggles better than anyone else, and before I realize what’s happening, he’s decided we’re friends.
Except I’m not sure I’m satisfied with just friendship anymore…
Accepting that I’m bi is easy, but why does the man I'm falling for have to be Dayton?
Tameron is the third book in the Honorably Discharged Series, which can be read as standalones but are much more fun read in order. It features a veteran trying to find where he belongs, a firefighter chief who knows what he wants, an age gap, one-sided dislike meets crush, found family, and a steamy happily ever after.
About Nora Phoenix
Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?
The short? You got it.
I write steamy gay romance books, and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.
How was that?
A little more detail? Gotcha.
I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.
My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.
Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.
