REVIEW: The Cult by Garry Michael (Men in the Shadows #2)

THE CULT

Men in the Shadows - Book Two

by Garry Michael

Release Date: June 27, 2024

Review

Oh man, I’m obsessed with this series. It totally puts me on edge as there are enemies all over the place, especially given that Tobias inserts himself into a cult in order to save his best friend's family.  I know he can handle himself, but damn the cult is not a peaceful loving one.

When he gets there and finds the son, Abel, now 19, and definitely no longer a kid! That man knows exactly what he wants. And he wants Tobias.  He also wants to help protect the other members.

As they work together to sort out what the cult is up to and how to get out, they also develop an intense and deliciously dirty relationship. It’s hair-raising at times, but you’ll also cheer them on and find peace in the connection they create.

The action isn’t over yet, but their found family and allies are growing!

Synopsis

I used to live on the fringes, creeping through the shadows, however being incognito was no longer an option. We’d started a war and there was a price tag hanging over our heads. Our next move had to be swift and calculated or we could perish at the hands of The Firm. That was the plan until a phone call changed everything, planting me in a cult in the middle of Wyoming where I was reacquainted with a boy I knew from my past.

Only, Abel was no longer a kid. He’d grown into a man who’d uncoiled a well-tied knot I’d been guarding for years.

He.

Was.

Off.

Limits.

Those four words should deter me from placing him up front and center in my wildest fantasies. I could do that. I just needed to figure out a way how.

Author's note: The Cult is book two of Men in the Shadows series. There’s a major spoiler from The Reaper (Men in the Shadows Book One) in this book. Although each book has an HEA there’s an overarching story in this trilogy.
