THE COWBOY AND THE OUTCAST

Farthingdale Valley - Book Three

Release Date: September 29, 2023

Review

Every time, Jackie gives us a character study of human nature, love and finding healing. It’s a slow and steady romance between two men who in their own way don’t feel they belong. Until they find one another.

Kell, the young parolee lost his family when he came out, and his journey on his own is what led him to getting 90 days for trespassing. It was a huge change from the middle-class upbringing that he had.

Marston on the other hand has always lived his life alone, growing up in the system. He’s never really had anyone in his corner. So when he starts working at Farthingdale Ranch he keeps to himself and struggles to believe his good fortune will last.

I’m so glad they both found someone to protect and care for their hearts. Their journeys were emotional but Farthingdale does its magic. Set in the gorgeous countryside, with plenty of fresh air and lots of good food they are given a chance to get their feet under them and even dream of what the future could look like.

Synopsis

Everywhere I go, I look for home. You are my home.

On the run for two years from an abusive family situation, Kell searches for a safe harbor. Instead of that happening, Kell gets arrested, but, unbelievably, amidst the horrors of prison, there shines a glimmer of hope.

Marston’s life is a mess. Everything he touches crumbles to dust. A second chance comes in the form of a job with the Farthingdale Valley New Start Program, except the two parolees assigned to him don’t even show up, so the job is a disaster from the get-go.

Temptation appears to Marston in the form of a particular skinny, foul-mouthed, unable to keep up with the other prison-hardened parolees. Now he’s Marston’s responsibility.

Marston has failed at everything else - he knows he’ll fail at resisting temptation.

Can’t sleep. Can’t touch. Can’t have. Kell and Marston are lonely, until they find each other.

Can they make love last?

A gay m/m cowboy romance with hurt/comfort, opposites attract, emotional scars, fish out of water, and s'mores. A little sweet, a little steamy, with a guaranteed HEA .

About Jackie North

Jackie North Pic

Jackie North has been writing stories since grade school and her dream was to someday leave her corporate day job behind and travel the world. She also wanted to put her English degree to good use and write romance novels, because for years she’s had a never-ending movie of made-up love stories in her head that simply wouldn’t leave her alone.

Luckily, she discovered m/m romance and decided that men falling in love with other men was exactly what she wanted to write about. In this dazzling new world, she turned her grocery-store romance ideas around and is now putting them to paper as fast as her fingers can type. She creates characters who are a bit flawed and broken, who find themselves on the edge of society, and maybe a few who are a little bit lost, but who all deserve a happily ever after. (And she makes sure they get it!)

She likes long walks on the beach, the smell of lavender and rainstorms, and enjoys sleeping in on snowy mornings. She is especially fond of pizza and beer and, when time allows, long road trips with soda fountain drinks and rock and roll music. In her heart, there is peace to be found everywhere, but since in the real world this isn’t always true, Jackie writes for love.
