REVIEW: Blaze & Ajax by Courtney W. Dixon (Alpha's Rejects #3)

BLAZE & AJAX

Alpha’s Rejects - Book Three

by Courtney W. Dixon

Release Date: December 17, 2024

Review

These two had a questionable start. They hate each other and Blaze goads Ajax into some interactions that push boundaries and bring up some deeply concerning trauma.

But they work through it amazingly.  Opening themselves up and exposing their tender underbellies to each other.  It’s really quite lovely.

That’s not to say this is a light-hearted story. The opposite.  It’s explosive and heated, and they are in for a rough ride while they sort themselves out and work through all the ails them.

It hurt my heart, while also being beautiful and hopeful. A journey from hate to steadfast loyalty.

Synopsis

I didn’t want him, but I had to have him.

Blaze (Aiden)

I ruined my cush life five years ago. I came from wealth and was kicked out with nothing but the clothes on my back. Even the man I’d been with, who had mastered my mind and body, turned his back on me. Since then, I haven’t found anyone who could meet my… needs. That is, until Jaxon ‘Ajax’ Kean. We hate each other. No way around it. He’s the last person I want, but he’s the only one who can give me what I need. How do I convince him to help me without tossing my pride into the garbage?

Ajax (Jaxon)

Aiden ‘Blaze’ Reese is a prick. Just looking at him makes me want to punch things, especially his face. Ever since he hurt my best friend Stix, I’ve wanted him to pay. But after a nearly violent kiss one night, I can’t get him out of my head. Two weeks later, he pushes me to do something I want to regret but don’t. Blaze, of all people, needs me. Can I give in to him? Can my mental health take it? Does he even deserve it?

This book is the third in a series, but like all my books, it can be read as a standalone.

About Courtney W. Dixon

Courtney W. Dixon loves to write erotic romance. She writes both m/f and m/m stories all in one series to add a variety to her characters. Though there are erotic elements to her stories, they are rich with relationship growth. Even those enemies to lovers, a favorite of hers. Her characters are filled with deep POVs with trouble pasts, full of depth and emotion. She tries to give them complexity and growth as their stories move. And her favorite is to break her main characters down to lift them back up in order to give them their HEA's.

Courtney is also a mixed media artist who's primarily been focused on writing lately. You can find her working in Central Texas with her husband, two boys and two crazy dogs, none of whom know how to knock on a door while she's working.
