REVIEW: Calvin by Kerry Kilpatrick (Almstead Island: Newcomer's Club #2)

Image
CALVIN Almstead Island: Newcomers Club - Book Two by Kerry Kilpatrick Release Date: January 28, 2025 Review Almstead Island is an idyllic community to so many, gorgeous, and queer-friendly. It’s no wonder Micah made it the place to rest at the end of the day. This was a good daddy/boy read with two guys from different worlds who weren’t previously a part of the community but fell into it so naturally. Despite the disparity between them, they found a deep love and respect. It wasn’t an easy road, they both messed up, their pasts and backgrounds colouring their actions, but with the help of friends they found their way and it made them stronger. They are both likable, even more so once they both stop guarding their hearts and emotions. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis What could go right with an inexperienced Daddy and a boy who’s scared to help him learn? Calvin Between my tech firm and family’s endowment fund, there’s no shortage of people trying to get close to me. O...

REVIEW: A One-Time Thing by Kate Hawthorne & EM Denning

A ONE-TIME THING by Kate Hawthorne & EM Denning Release Date: January 30, 2025 Review I’m a sucker for a grump! Especially a grump who can’t say no to a kid. Gil is a loner who keeps everyone at arms length and I love every minute of him. Especially as the kind, optimistic neighbour, Rowan, manages to work his way under his skin. Well him and his son. The closed-off ones always fall the sweetest and their no-strings hook-up of convenience was a lot of fun to watch as each late-night knock brings them closer and closer to love. Both of them are great guys and ones that you will root for and want to be friends with. And Rowan’s son is a wonderful addition to the story. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LINK Synopsis Gil Valentine knows three things: he doesn’t want kids, he doesn’t want a relationship, and he likes to be alone. He spends Sundays tinkering in the garage, cruising on his motorcycle, and enjoying the luxury of a bed that he doesn’t have to share. After his last relat...

REVIEW: Not Catching Love by Saxon James (Accidental Love #5)

NOT CATCHING LOVE Accidental Love - Book Five by Saxon James Release Date: January 30, 2025 Review A slow burn involving Xander, the last uninvolved member of Bertha Boys, and Derek, a Nurse that Xander frequently turns to in a crisis. It’s a difficult story, Xander has a serious mental health issue and it also involves the idea of a medical professional becoming involved with a patient. Xander has a lot of struggles and fears and it’s played a significant role in his friend's lives, but also in Derek’s who has put his life on hold to be there for him, which is sweet and also disturbingly co-dependent. It was great that they found a way forward and some healing, but I have to admit, I don’t really like Xander.  He’s a bit of jerk and extremely manipulative and it’s not just because of his mental health diagnosis. Of course, he does grow on you, especially once he decides to address his issues. But I will miss these boys and of course Bertha. Add to your TBR List GOODREADS LI...
