Review

This was absolutely fantastic.  I couldn’t get enough. Briar did an incredible job at drawing me right from the beginning, providing me enough information to move the story forward, but holding back some info that kept me guessing for a long while. I loved it.

I also have to say, the dialogue was incredible. Good dialogue is my favourite part of a story, and excellent dialogue will have me worshipping at an author's feet. It helps that the character's brand of humour was on point with my own, so I definitely felt an affinity with them both. They made me chuckle the whole way through.

The story, the progression of their relationship, Jude breaking down his own walls, it was all so beautifully done. Told from the single point of view of Jude, it was super fascinating to see the story solely through his eyes. But especially to see Blake through his eyes. Uncovering who someone is through the eyes of another is always enlightening.

This also had one of my favourite elements of a story, an epilogue set many years in the future. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting a glimpse of their life and where they’ve landed, and it was a perfect epilogue for these two.

My only disappointment…not being able to read it for the first time again!

Synopsis

I’m the first one to tell you I have issues.

Trust issues.

Family issues.

Probably a few others I haven’t discovered yet.

Which is why I prefer to keep my life as simple and uncomplicated as possible.

Until him.

Blake McAdams barrels into my life and refuses to leave. He’s relentlessly optimistic, sexy as hell, annoyingly persistent, and… wants to be friends? Because… he thinks I’m interesting?

Yeah, I’ll pass. Thanks.

Only, somehow, we end up doing just that.

And then that friendship evolves into something more, and suddenly, I find myself navigating a completely foreign territory: a relationship.

But Blake has his own issues, and once those clash with mine my simple and uncomplicated life? Turns into anything but.

About Briar Prescott

Briar Prescott is a work in progress. She swears too much, doesn’t eat enough leafy greens and binge watches too much television. It’s okay, though. One of these days she'll get a hang of that adulting thing.

Probably.

Maybe.

She hopes.
